A Therapy Space Tailored to You.
“It is integral that you feel heard, and that you have autonomy over your sessions.”
— Kate Quinn, Therapist
How can therapy help you?
I know it can feel daunting reaching out the first time, or even later after having previous therapy and trying someone new, I'll ensure you feel welcomed and that anything you are going through, you feel supported in with the strictest confidentiality.
Firstly, we will have a free of charge 20 minute call to see if you feel I'm the right fit for you, for you to explain in as much or as little detail as you wish what's brought you to therapy, and for me to answer any questions that you may have. After this we would arrange for our first session.
Therapy can give you the time and space needed to explore what’s been and what is currently going on for you.
The Pluralistic Approach
Person Centred Therapy
Person Centred Therapy at it’s foundation has the core conditions: empathy, congruence, unconditional positive regard and autonomy. There is a deep belief that the client is the expert of their own experiences, therefore there is emphasis on the importance of the therapist to put the individual at the centre of their own therapy, on valuing the life led and the experiences through the lens of the client.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
CBT offers shorter term, practical, hands on therapy. During sessions the therapist teaches you to notice unhelpful thought patterns in the moment and the conscious mind and to then change behaviours and therefore outcomes. The core concept is that, if we change how we think - we change how we act and how we feel.
Psychodynamic Therapy
Sigmund Freud pioneered the framework for this approach. There is more emphasis on the patterns and beliefs of the subconscious mind, on early childhood and how our inner drives impact our human behaviours.
Pluralistic Approach
The Pluralistic Approach believe that there is not a ‘one size fits all’ approach that can be taken with a client. It therefore incorporates Psychodynamic Therapy, CBT Therapy and Person Centred Therapy to ensure your sessions are tailor made to you. In this approach, shared decision making is prioritised between client and therapist to ensure there is autonomy for you.
